Versatile Aces team too much for Tigers, advance to 2nd round
On paper, the Ulysses and Wichita East matchup to begin the 2012 Tournament of Champions seemed to favor the Aces, who come out of the Greater Wichita City League, while the 4A Tigers were viewed as the heavy underdog.
Reserved seat tickets for the tournament are now on sale at the United Wireless Arena box office. Reserved seat prices are $12 per day or $33/$30 for all three days. The TOC Breakfast, sponsored by the Dodge City Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday morning at Dodge City High School. This year’s speaker will be former Kentucky Wildcat – Cameron Mills.
An awards ceremony will follow the championship game on Saturday evening. The awards will include; Most Inspirational Player, Team Sportsmanship, Individual Sportsmanship, Coaches Sportsmanship, All-Academic Team for basketball players & cheerleaders, Individual All Tournament Basketball team and Cheerleaders, and the Tournament Trophy presentations.
