Woods qualifies for DCHS boys; Larman, Smith also state-bound
Although the Dodge City High School bowling team finished ninth in the team standings on Saturday at the Class 6A regional tournament at West Acres Bowl in Goddard, Tyler Woods qualified for the state tournament for the Red Demons. Woods rolled a 549 to secure his second trip to the state tourney, which starts Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at North Rock Lanes in Wichita. “Tyler will be making his second trip to state as an individual,” DCHS head coach Tyson Clark said. “The guys were unable to get anything going. We faced very tough competition. The guys grinded all day.

GREAT BEND — The Dodge City High School boys' bowling team finished its regular season perfect after winning the Western Athletic Conference tournament with a score of 2,428 at Walnut Bowl. The Red Demons, 14-0 and 9-0 in the conference, set their sights on the postseason, which starts Feb. 27 in Wichita. "We now have a week to prepare for regionals," DCHS bowling coach Tyson Clark said. "The guys have achieved their first goal of winning WAC, and now we are set on qualifying for the state tournament."

LIBERAL — The Dodge City High School bowling teams made a clean sweep on Monday at Ayr Lanes. All four DCHS teams — the varsity and junior varsity boys and girls squads — won first place. “We had a good showing in Liberal,” DCHS head coach Tyson Clark said. “Several kids bowled well and we came away with a victory in every match. “We had a good week of practice last week and it carried over into competition. We must continue to improve this week and the rest of the season.” Next action for DCHS is Tuesday at home vs. Great Bend at 3:30 pm.

GREAT BEND — The Dodge City High School bowling team took part in a dual with Great Bend at Walnut Bowl. Dodge City’s boys varsity won, 2,193 pins to 2,165, while Great Bend’s girls varsity posted a 2,048-1,946 triumph.

DCHS opens bowling season: boys sixth, girls 11th

WICHITA — The Dodge City High School bowling team opened their season at the Biship Carroll Invitational. The Red Demons, comprised of seniors Alex Simmons, Tyler Woods, Cade Morgan and Ethan Hutchcraft, along with sophomore Tanner Dalton and freshman Dylan Woods, finished sixth of 24 teams, totaling 2,664 pins.
